Here are some of the poems from the challange back in January. You gave me a word and I was supposed to come up with mind shattering poems from it. I'm not extremely proud of these.. and I deleted a lot of them... I assure you.. I will not do a challange thingy again. It sucked... But these sucked less than the others... so... eh...
Mask
I wear a mask
Of mud and clay
Promises of beauty
Amply displayed
But no one knows
What's underneith
My imperfections
And flaws bequiethed
Deep within
Each pore it seeps
Hardening
As my image sleeps
A shell of myself
I hide away
I praise this mask
For another day
And when it's all over
This "Masqurade" of me
This mask will be shattered
And I'll finally be free.
Gypsy
Come dance by the fire
Come celebrate your soul
Come hear the songs
That call to you
Beyond the trellis' hold
See the maiden free and true
See the crone within her eyes
See all that you
Hold precious dear
Behold a Gypsy's nigh!
Free of spirit
Free of heart
Free to love
And free to laugh
when you depart
You cannot hold
A gypsy down
You cannot buy
her trust
There's nothing here that you can own
there's a gypsy in all of us
Unity
Molecules and atoms
Variances of dust are we
The things that matter most to us
Are things not plainly seen
So do not divide and conqure us
With differances and blame
This is a call for Unity and Peace
For we are one and the same
Feet
I've walked a million miles
Without a chance to rest
I've seen many places
For which I hold no regrets
Though my shoes are worn out now
And I need to be pampered a bit
I am blessed to have these feet of mine
Otherwise I'd be knee deep in shit!
Forgiveness
Complications skew judgments
Opinions are faulty too
Forgiveness is the only constant
That when chosen, can free you
Paradise
Chandeliers and champagne lace
Crystal facets dangling clear
To whom does this Paradise cling?
Those who count thier riches dear
Silver pipe euphoria flow
Spin and dance to Meth
To whom does this Paradise cling?
Those who pray for death
Blood basin of carnal sin
Torn veil, sacrifice made
To whom does this Paradise cling?
Those who claim to be saved
The Paradise you choose is yours
No one can judge your bliss
But I would rather see you rejoice
Than to find you hopeless...in a ditch....
Destiny
My ever changing witness
my pretense and my deeds
Are all these things preplanned
Are they part of my destiny?
Do I fight a mortal battle
All along knowing my fate?
Is it my destiny to fall
Into depression, drugs and hate?
How does destiny work?
Does it change with every choice
What exactly figures in
When the end results are hoist
High enough to see
High enough to know
High enough to keep silent
And dare to go with the flow
My destiny and yours
Are they tied as one of many ropes
Forever to cross and fray
Filled with disappointments and hope?
Destiny, Destiny
How often you play a roll
But exactly how far you reach
We may never know
Biast / Cheating
I'm biast? Me?
Why wouldn't I be?
The train wreck you call your life
Is not what it's supposed to be
And I'll be damned if I surrender
To the arrogance and greed!
I chose him over you?
And that's some kind of surprise?
I'm biast based on truth and facts
Instead of your wretched lies?
My biast is a good one
And I don't care if you agree
I've got a right to be judgemental
When it comes to my family and me
So take your cheating ass
And your $30 dollar Hoe
After all I'm biast remember?
But atleast I have a soul!!
Antidisestablishmentarianism Blues
Raceism, facism
Spiritualism too
Humanitarian, disciplinarian
Which one calls to you
Communism, separatism
Catholicism in the pews
I hear something calling to me
It's the Antidisestablishmentarianism Blues
(to be sung in a country blues type bob dylan type groove)
Well I turned around an' noticed
That everything was gone
I cancelled out my consciousness
and my double negative spawn
I'm "anti dis" respectin'
My crew, my family, my job
It's a wonder anyone noticed
This antidisestablishmentarianism slob
But I snuck out 'round the corner
And down to the local bar
Everyone was glad to see
This antidisestablishmentarianism star
It's amazing what can get done
When your singing the Antidisestablishmentarianism Blues
So sign up at work the next time you see a sign
And see how it works for you...
Beans
Soy beans
Green beans
Baked beans from the hearth
I have to say my favorite beans
Are jelly beans
Cuz they don't make you fart.
