Only Tomarrow Knows

ONLY TOMARROW KNOWS

Jonquil's sullen faces stay
Amidst the cracked and faded clay
Pleading Sky to drown and quench
Bid the sun to hide away

Eagle seeks the trees to dim
To cool the quills, parlay the sin
Spirit coasts on sunlit sky
Ascended breath brings life to him

Dolphins dance betwix the light
Of rays refracting depths of sight
Within the womb of Earth's own soul
The ocean's warmed by ancient rite

Hues of purple, pink and gold
Enblazoned sun sets gently low
And what will come from days to be?
Only Tomarrow knows...

Results

Well, I haven't written much lately... but the poem Autumn's Dance won and Editor's Choice award from Poetry.com.  It will be published in a book and they asked for my permission to allow them to record my poem with clasical music behind it on a 3 CD set.  Kinda cool... even if it is just bull shit from a publishing company who's making alot of money off of folks to buy the books  they are published in.... I see the forest through the trees.. but it makes for a good obituary...LOL ( I still want to send in something that I know for a fact stinks to see if it will still win something.... I'm famous for my personal experiments.. I like to bring the bull to the surface so I can point and say I was right... Yes, it's a character flaw.. but it's alright... I enjoy it...LOL )

Look for new entries soon... I feel the juices flowin'  .....

Caged

Caged

My unfallen tears
Turn to bile in my belly.

My silent cries
Heave in discontent.

My caged emotions
Sicken me.

Sweet liberation
To be free of them!

Within

Within

Am I to look inside and see
Someone else looking out of me?
Will I curse and banish this little child
Or set her free to be untamed and wild?

And the adult therein
With her sensual side...
She has an appetite for lust
That's never satisfied

Will I inhibit her seductions
And allow her to implode
Or seek out the loves
That she desires to know?

And the one who nurtures
Teaches and reads
Will this parent within me
Take a break and find peace?

Where do I look to find myself?
Where do I go to find solice?
When will I be allowed to be free?
Will I even respond if you call us?

The mirror shatters.
A million reflections of me
Lay dormant and alone
Yet I stand as one... longing to be free

From all of it....

This poem is not about multiple personality disorder or any such thing.. though it could be interpreted that way.  It's just the very real search for authenticity of self amidst the cloaks and titles we often have to wear from day to day.  The wanting to be free of the pretense and the "have to's".  We've all been there.  Searching.. wishing.. daydreaming that things were different.

When you stand alone, in the silence and look in the mirror... can you say that you TRUELY know who you are? Does that reflection really represent who you are on the inside?  Do you see anger or happiness?  Do you see a mischievious little child.. or a sensuous adult?  Do you see your authentic self?  Would you even recognize her?

Saphfire's Storm

Saphfire's Storm

Saphfire's Storm
Resplendant and Cruel
She lives amidst beauty
Yet torn by the truth

The Wind whirls around her
Caressing her heart
Until Thunder comes
And rips it apart

Hope and Fury
Cast within clay
Torrents and sunshine
Fills all her days

And in the end
What shall it mean?
For a storm in the desert
Is not often seen...

Cliff

Cliff

Perchance you will save me
Perhaps I will fall
Pursuade me to stay
Betwix them all
And so it goes
A daunting dream
If I should linger
Above the screams
Will you save me?
Will you stay?
Will I jump
This beautiful day?
Emotions run rapid
Like the falls of my soul
Catch me... Catch me....
My heart grows cold

To hold you close
I search the skies
I breathe the wind
To help me fly
On dandelion
Seeds I hope,
Cast upon
The frozen slopes
Will you hear me?
Do you already know?
Shatter the darkness
As Tempest blows!
And set me free
From this demise
I beg, I plead, I cry....

Prayer

Prayer

This candle burns
For those in need
Known and unknown
Seen and unseen

Ceaseless in purpose
For Healing and Peace
With Love and Light
Blessed Be

Deplete

Deplete

Deplete my soul
and sell my scars
this treasure I give to thee
wretched are the memories
That embalm my spirit
Take what is your's Lord
Deplete me

Poetry Challange

Here are  some of the poems from the challange back in January.  You gave me a word and I was supposed to come up with mind shattering poems from it.  I'm not extremely proud of these.. and I deleted a lot of them... I assure you.. I will not do a challange thingy again.  It sucked... But these sucked less than the others... so... eh...

Mask

I wear a mask
Of mud and clay
Promises of beauty
Amply displayed

But no one knows
What's underneith
My imperfections
And flaws bequiethed

Deep within
Each pore it seeps
Hardening
As my image sleeps

A shell of myself
I hide away
I praise this mask
For another day

And when it's all over
This "Masqurade" of me
This mask will be shattered
And I'll finally be free.

Gypsy

Come dance by the fire
Come celebrate your soul
Come hear the songs
That call to you
Beyond the trellis' hold

See the maiden free and true
See the crone within her eyes
See all that you
Hold precious dear
Behold a Gypsy's nigh!

Free of spirit
Free of heart
Free to love
And free to laugh
when you depart

You cannot hold
A gypsy down
You cannot buy
her trust
There's nothing here that you can own
there's a gypsy in all of us

Unity

Molecules and atoms
Variances of dust are we
The things that matter most to us
Are things not plainly seen
So do not divide and conqure us
With differances and blame
This is a call for Unity and Peace
For we are one and the same

Feet

I've walked a million miles
Without a chance to rest
I've seen many places
For which I hold no regrets

Though my shoes are worn out now
And I need to be pampered a bit
I am blessed to have these feet of mine
Otherwise I'd be knee deep in shit!

Forgiveness

Complications skew judgments
Opinions are faulty too
Forgiveness is the only constant
That when chosen, can free you

Paradise

Chandeliers and champagne lace
Crystal facets dangling clear
To whom does this Paradise cling?
Those who count thier riches dear

Silver pipe euphoria flow
Spin and dance to Meth
To whom does this Paradise cling?
Those who pray for death

Blood basin of carnal sin
Torn veil, sacrifice made
To whom does this Paradise cling?
Those who claim to be saved

The Paradise you choose is yours
No one can judge your bliss
But I would rather see you rejoice
Than to find you hopeless...in a ditch....

Destiny

My ever changing witness
my pretense and my deeds
Are all these things preplanned
Are they part of my destiny?

Do I fight a mortal battle
All along knowing my fate?
Is it my destiny to fall
Into depression, drugs and hate?

How does destiny work?
Does it change with every choice
What exactly figures in
When the end results are hoist

High enough to see
High enough to know
High enough to keep silent
And dare to go with the flow

My destiny and yours
Are they tied as one of many ropes
Forever to cross and fray
Filled with disappointments and hope?

Destiny, Destiny
How often you play a roll
But exactly how far you reach
We may never know

Biast / Cheating

I'm biast? Me?
Why wouldn't I be?
The train wreck you call your life
Is not what it's supposed to be
And I'll be damned if I surrender
To the arrogance and greed!

I chose him over you?
And that's some kind of surprise?
I'm biast based on truth and facts
Instead of your wretched lies?

My biast is a good one
And I don't care if you agree
I've got a right to be judgemental
When it comes to my family and me

So take your cheating ass
And your $30 dollar Hoe
After all I'm biast remember?
But atleast I have a soul!!

Antidisestablishmentarianism Blues

Raceism, facism
Spiritualism too
Humanitarian, disciplinarian
Which one calls to you
Communism, separatism
Catholicism in the pews
I hear something calling to me
It's the Antidisestablishmentarianism Blues

(to be sung in a country blues type bob dylan type groove)

Well I turned around an' noticed
That everything was gone
I cancelled out my consciousness
and my double negative spawn

I'm "anti dis" respectin'
My crew, my family, my job
It's a wonder anyone noticed
This antidisestablishmentarianism slob

But I snuck out 'round the corner
And down to the local bar
Everyone was glad to see
This antidisestablishmentarianism star

It's amazing what can get done
When your singing the Antidisestablishmentarianism Blues
So sign up at work the next time you see a sign
And see how it works for you...

Beans

Soy beans
Green beans
Baked beans from the hearth
I have to say my favorite beans
Are jelly beans
Cuz they don't make you fart.

Reasons for the Storms

Reasons for the Storms

Lucid tanglings of details
Lost in irrequitable dreams
Leaving us restlessly paralized
In the distance of silent streams

Each drop a crystal torture
Each breeze a frozen scar
And when the storm does calm
It makes us who we are.

Whispers of a Storm

The silent wisps of splendor
Course through the midnight sky
With thunder my spirit rises
On wind my soul does fly

Tears of Heaven fall on me
Soaking me to the bone
The ever changing earth and sky
Reminds me I'm not alone

You have landed on the
shores of an eternal dance.

It is one of youth and of age.

It is a dance of fear and of faith.
It is the spiritual struggle
within the carnal mind.

It sways with the emotions
of a woman's expression.

It leaps with the truths hidden in
the recesses of the heart never spoken.

It spins and teeters on the brink of existence.

It will wash you up on the shores
and send you crashing into yourself.
