Only Tomorrow Knows

Jonquil's sullen faces stay
Amidst the cracked and faded clay
Pleading Sky to drown and quench
Bid the sun to hide away

Eagle seeks the trees to dim
To cool the quills, parlay the sin
Spirit coasts on sunlit sky
Ascended breath brings life to him

Dolphins dance betwixt the light
Of rays refracting depths of sight
Within the womb of Earth's own soul
The ocean's warmed by ancient rite

Hues of purple, pink and gold
Emblazoned sun sets gently low
And what will come from days to be?
Only Tomorrow knows...

Reasons for the Storms

Lucid tanglings of details
Lost in irrequitable dreams
Leaving us restlessly paralyzed
In the distance of silent streams

Each drop a crystal torture
Each breeze a frozen scar
And when the storm does calm
It makes us who we are.

Autumn's Dance

Twisted willows faint and moan
Brushing tainted bristles low
Lavish fields sway and pitch
Wrapped up in Autumn's Dance

Spectrals leave kaleidoscope heirs
Stirring the storm as lightening flares
Rain strikes with passions deep
Enchanted by Autumn's Dance

Breath to see on sunlit day
Crunching grasses flowers frayed
All of Nature feels betrayed
On the wings of Autumn's Dance

Regret

Regret

Regret once encaged me
As I grasped the threads of time
To keep hold of the past
To keep hold of what was mine

The bars of steel and stone
Withheld me in it's arms
'Til all my doubt and guilt
Had been freed to inflict self-harm

It tore at my thoughts
drowning myself in pity
Leading me to it's palace
Which was lonely, cold and gritty

Once I fell that far
I could not fight to live
For depression was all too deep
And Regret had closed the lid

Regret is a master
Do not play too close
Or it will find you surely
And take what you love most

The rain is coming down
Soaking the earth and me
Together we are one
Together through this sea

The never ending boats
Drift aimlessly amiss
Gently turning forth
Their amity and bliss

So dark and yet so light
Unknown and yet unseen
The universe is infinite

Trampled by the days gone by
Holden by the truth despised
Gilded by the shame I cry
Forsaking all but time

Tossed about and plainly seen
Tattered, torn - my broken seams
Patched and mended I look to be
But only on the surface deep

Those who see beyond my face
Can see before this time and place
They'll tell a tale of rage and hate
Where innocence is not so safe

Where Laughter hurts
And Love is cruel
Where Sorrow's a friend
And Trust's a fool

So close your eyes
